Latausha Cheatum held a conference that inspired me. The conference title was “H. U.R.” meaning, Healed Unstoppable Resilient. Many speakers gave a testimony on how the traumas they faced during a period of their lives has shaped them into better people. They didn’t use the low points in their lives to stay low but used their traumas as a stepping stool to reach further. To heal a wound, you must first realize that you have been wounded but not defeated. Because you are not defeated, you now become unstoppable and then resilient. This conference was an eye-opener for many to realize that they aren’t alone. I’ve learned that many people keep the low points or tragedies in their lives a secret.
